Third Generation Upholsterer
A Family Tradition of Craftsmanship

My Journey in Upholstery

My name is Eddie, and I am the craftsman behind DiCarlo Upholstery.

I am a third-generation upholsterer. I was born and raised in Brazil, where upholstery was not just a profession, it was part of our family tradition. From a very young age, I grew up surrounded by fabrics, tools, and the craftsmanship of my father and grandfather.

When I was only seven years old, I began learning the trade by helping in our family upholstery shop. My grandfather and father taught me the fundamentals of traditional upholstery, while other members of my family also shared their experience and skills. Those early years shaped my respect for the craft and my passion for restoring furniture the right way.

In 2003, I moved to Boston and began a new chapter in my journey as an upholsterer. I worked in an upholstery shop where I continued developing my skills and learning the American approach to upholstery, reupholstery, and furniture restoration. During that time, my former employer recognized my dedication and encouraged me to start my own upholstery business.

In 2011, I founded DiCarlo Upholstery. Since then, I have dedicated my heart, energy, and passion to every project. My philosophy has always been simple: focus on quality craftsmanship, work carefully on each piece, and treat every piece of furniture as if it were my own.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working on many types of furniture, including antique pieces, family heirlooms, modern residential furniture, restaurant seating, and commercial upholstery projects. Each piece has its own story, and restoring it requires patience, attention to detail, and respect for the original design.

My daughter lovingly calls me "Doctor Chair" because she sees how much care I put into bringing furniture back to life. She enjoys watching the transformation of each piece, and I hope that one day she will continue to be part of our family tradition and help lead the next generation of our business.

I am also deeply grateful to my wife, Dani, whose support and dedication have been essential throughout this journey. Her help keeps our business organized and running smoothly, allowing me to stay focused on the craftsmanship and service our clients deserve.

Today, DiCarlo Upholstery proudly serves clients throughout Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area, providing professional upholstery, reupholstery, and furniture restoration services with the same dedication and craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations of my family.
