My Journey in Upholstery

I’m the third generation of upholsters in my family. I was born and raised in Brazil, where I learned all the skills to upholstery from my father and grandfather.
From my father’s family we are all upholsterers. When I was 7, I started to learn these skills with my father who worked in the automotive business. My uncles also taught me some skills in residential upholster.
In 2003 I decided to move to Boston and since then I’ve improved my knowledge about old furniture and reupholstering. I worked for 7 years in an upholstery shop where with the help of my former boss I’ve learned some of the American way for this business. There was a moment when my former boss told me I was more than ready to have my own upholstery shop.
That way in 2011 I’ve started DiCarlo Upholstery where I concentrate all my projects with all my heart, sweat and tears. Since the very beginning we have offered the best services, by attending one project at time, so that we can make sure we can provide the best end results.
My daughter calls me “Doctor Chair” and I hope someday she keeps our family dream alive, and she could carry on being the fourth generation of upholsterers. I couldn’t forget mentioned my beloved wife, Dani all the effort and help she has been giving all these years keeping focused, in managing the business well she is my safe haven.
